Ok.. I was just about to suggest upgrading to 7.1.3.  Version 1.2 will use 
Net::IP to do these calculations so it should not be a problem after that (I 
committed the changes to CVS last night).

The MAC Address field is optional and currently takes the format of:

00:00:00:00:00:00

This field will hopefully be more flexible is future revisions.
